Did God Fail?

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

You have heard them, you know those preachers, the ones that tells you to Trust God and throw away your crutches. They are both right and wrong. The bible calls on people to remove contempt from your heart and Trust God. Yet, every one dies. Its no laughing matter. Everyone gets sick. There are liars who say they never had a problem because they (better than you.) had so much trust they never got sick and they confessed healing and wealth so give them your money as trust God will bless you. They are lunatics and teach against what the bible teaches.

Does God let you down? Yes. He let Abraham down, he let Peter down, he let down everyone depending on how you look at it.

But why? How can this article be Christian. Hold on, at times God does heal. At times there are to many coincidences such that they end up railroading you right into success. BUT you still die and your crops still may fail and at times get mold on them. And that thing you did, that can fail too.

So what is up with that. Did God Fail You?

  1. God kicked Adam and Eve out and they got the raw end of the stick because of their contempt. They didn’t trust God.
  2. Abraham was promised a City and left everything to find the city in trust but did not receive it.

What if 500 years after you die, you get your healing. Is that a little late? If God promised Abraham that he was going to a city meaning to find this city but it wasn’t even on earth, how is that fair? Abraham was on a wild goose chase. Does it matter? Does it matter if that city Abraham was looking for was, yet to come? Does it matter that it will come later as the New Jerusalem in Revelations that is 1500 miles wide, long and high. Opps. God just left out a few details and he had Abraham running across the country.

God helped Israel get out of Egypt. God then helped the Jews through the red sea. Yes, they were believers in God by then, but they grumbled because the food was boring. God gave them Mana from heaven great but it was boring. After a while the Jews got sick of it. They complained they had more of a variety in Egypt. They ended up losing their lives because of their grumbling and contempt for God. They believed in God but they did not trust God.

Then there is this, They feared crossing the Jordan to enter the promised land. One might say that Abraham’s grand kids might finally see the kingdom. Oh boy, the city, Gods Promises. Hopes were up. But the Jews feared so God led them around the desert for 40 years till all the old people died off. But who would have known, that when their children did finally enter, they didn’t get the City of God promised their great many greats, grandfather Abraham.

Hebrews 11 talks about all those people who did not get everything promised. The goose chase is just poor vision on our part. Our goose chase is based on a lack of understanding. Everyone dies physically. God has promised to return to bring back the dead and the faithful living and give those who believed having faith, new life. God promised to wipe every tear. God Promised we all will walk on streets of Gold. Not just Abraham, its also promised to us. And I believe it. Yes, in spite of the goose chase. I know God has left out details and I am OK with that. Its likely much bigger than people realize and I can wait..

God does Fail in our eyes if we are looking for God to do it right in front of our eyes every time. News Flash. We might get covid. We are not bullet proof. And some of our loved ones will die. So is Psalms 91 true ? Psalms 91 is a praise from David to God for the things he has done. Lets face it, Still, our house might burn down even if we are Christians. And, our job might end. BUT don’t forget some times God will intervene. So we should praise Him twice over when He does help. The truth is, According to Hebrews 11. Davids High praise is only part of the picture. Gods faithfulness will be revealed you have to trust him till that happens. He is our healer our supply still you may get sick some times and be broke, without a dime. Still, in the end, when accounts are settled, you will be a kings kid. Let the story/play out and trust God and ask him for favor.

Trust in God. Stop having contempt. Stop having false hope. Stop thinking you are bullet proof. Still, trust God even in trouble. Wait it out. Lean on God. See life through to its physical End and expect more. Let go and let God sort it all out. Don’t let a failure and trouble hold you under water. Be an Adult about life. Be aware that God is not fixing everything every time you ask.. Continue life, right now. He wants you to be an adult. A failure does not mean God does not care. it means God didn’t plan to fix everything. Trust God anyways, Pray for help and do your best while trusting. Mature Christians commune with God and praise him like David did because God does provide that ramp and that cave and that solution many times. And David stuck with God even though he Lost people in his family and his Daughter was raped. Don’t mistake Moments of Joy as the pattern for your whole life. Trouble does hit. Gods special interventions are special because they are not every time. Trust God and love him anyways.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

John 14 King James Version (KJV)

14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

God Failed to fill you in with a warning label on each scripture that in the end those who follow him win even if some times they don’t win everything right now. This you knew already. Trust like Abraham. Trust and like him you will eventually get the city.. the health, the victory and new life.

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” – John 11:25

God Failed to remind you to take off your rose colored glasses. God did say, hold on to him. Draw nigh to Him and He will draw nigh to you. Lets be sober about life.

read the Small Print:

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The only thing God failed at was to consult us on how things would play out in detail. Even when He talked with Abraham he mulled over even telling him what he was going to do. God did tell him in that case. Gods not going to fill you in on everything. Let him be the boss. Trust him. Don’t doubt because you feel like he should have jumped to aid you. He will as He sees fit. In some ways we are like Abraham and we still have not received the promise. You may have to wait a few thousand years. It doesn’t mean God made a mistake. It means He is God.

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. – 2Timothy 4:8
